Who was the First Crime Scene Investigator ?

Ever wonder who was the first crime scene investigator and what did he or she find? The
first crime scene investigator is August Vollmer (who is the founding father of crime scenes). In Los Angeles in the early 1920's crime began to escalate and throughout the early 1930's to todays era crime has increase to about 95% ! August Vollmer found the body of a 10 year old little girl named Roberta Rinearson. Vollmer and his crime lab employee Joseph Haas found an imprint of tire marks that was near the body of the murder victim (Roberta Rinearson). They compared the imprint marks to the car that belonged to suspect Harold Poull, on Feb. 12, 1949. Roberta was last seen alive when she left her home in Suburban Brookfield, IL at 6PM, Friday night, on December 17,1948. According to the Chicago Tribune, she was walking alone and was going to see a movie at the nearby suburb of La Grange. Her body was found the next morning eight miles from her home in a ditch near a cemetery. She had been beaten, gagged, strangled and had been sexually assulted. Vollmer was very devastated with what he have found. This did not discouraged him from contuining to solve crimes, infact it motivated him. He belived that crime should be solved and not left unaswered, no matter how difficult it is. I couldn't imagine what it would be like to find a dead body but also a little girl , who didn't get a chance to fully live her life? I wonder why was she killed and why would she travel alone to go the movies ? It makes me cringe to hear incidents like this and who can be so heartless to commit a crime? When will this ever end ?
